Online theatre and workshops have an important role in widening reach and access to the arts. As part of MuMo and an associate artist for ENB, I’ve been involved in delivering weekly online workshops, and MuMo plans for the future include virtual museum tours and online explorations of famous ballets.
Digital storytelling is a major feature of my online work, both as performance and as workshops/musical direction.
As part of an Opera Anywhere project for schools, I’ve hosted digital books that explore the themes, characters and production of operas such as ‘Hansel and Gretel’.
With Three Chairs and a Hat I’ve produced and/or performed several pieces of digital theatre for the online Edinburgh and Brighton Fringe festivals, and under the Gurning Gnome publishing banner, hosted the Gnomefest vid-lit festival for writers performing their own work. I also ventured into animation for digital versions of my musicals, which are available on international streaming platform Scenesaver, as well as on the Three Chairs and a Hat YouTube channel — along with videos of our stage musicals in performance at the Edinburgh Fringe and the Old Fire Station in Oxford.
